Billard, Vodickova each win their second 5150 in Klagenfurt!

About 400 athletes took part at the first 5150 in Klagenfurt. After heavy rain showers in the morning the sun came up and attracted numerous fans and spectators around the Lindner Seepark Hotel area. The PRO start took place at 2 pm, 3 more waves followed.
First out of the water was Stuart Hayes in 17:21 – followed by Joshua Amberger (AUS) and Igor Sysoev (RUS), both in 17:23. Radka Vodickova (CZE) was the first woman out of the water (18:28).
On the bike the French Bertrand Billard – who was victorious at the 5150 Darmstadt two weeks ago – took the lead and left the rest behind on the 40 k. Stuart Hayes and Joshua Amberger followed him in second and third position. After 1:18:15 Billard started the run, Amberger was in the transition after 1:21:15, Hayes finished the bike after 1:21:16. On the women’s side Vodickova reached the transition after 1:31:16.
On the run course Bertrand Billard stays in first position, Hayes and Amberger on two and three. The French wins the first 5150 Klagenfurt in 1:53:15. Stuart Hayes is second in 1:54:41, third is Joshua Amberger in 1:56:31. Best Austrian is Dominik Berger in 2:00:13. On the women’s side it is Radka Vodickova who gets first in 2:12:01. Second is Nikki Butterfield (AUS) in 2:14:25, third gets Renate Forstner (GER) in 2:19:14. Best Austrian female is Barbara Tesar in 2:28:43.
The second edition of the 5150 Klagenfurt takes place in 10th June 2012.
